Amber Sunburst Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with golden-amber doubles edged in deep gold. The warmest, sunniest colour in the collection.
Adenium obesum — Amber Sunburst. True yellow is the hardest colour to breed into adenium, and this line gets closer than anything else we grow: golden-amber petals with a deep gold rim that deepens toward the centre. In evening light the whole plant seems lit from inside. Growth is strong and upright, with thick new stems that thicken fast — a young plant fills out a pot in a single season.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with visible eyes and a healthy root system.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — each caudex an individual.
How to start it
- Pot: terracotta, one size up from the roots. 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand.
- Water: none for the first 7 days, then soak-and-dry cycles. Feed lightly at half strength in active growth.
- Light: 6+ hours of sun; warmth and light both deepen the amber.
- Cold: USDA 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere keep above 50°F / 10°C.
Amber reads more yellow at midday and more copper at the ends of the day — the photo lands somewhere in between. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
