Blush Sonnet Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with white petals blushed warm pink toward the throat, carried on a naturally S-curved caudex. Softest colour in the collection.
Adenium obesum — Blush Sonnet. Petals open white and pick up a warm pink wash as they age, deepest at the throat, so a plant in full flush shows three shades on one head. The caudex is the other half of the story: a natural S-curve with a pronounced waist, which is why this one suits a shallow bonsai dish rather than a standard pot.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with an S-curved trunk, visible eyes and intact roots.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — multi-packs are separate caudexes, never divided.
How to start it
- Pot: shallow and wide — a bonsai dish with a drainage hole shows off the curve. 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand.
- Water: dry for the first 7 days, then soak and dry out fully between waterings.
- Light: 6+ hours of sun. The blush deepens with light; in shade the flowers stay almost white.
- Cold: USDA zones 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere a sunny windowsill above 50°F / 10°C.
First-year blooms on this variety are often more white than pink — the blush builds over the season and with plant age. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
