Crimson Ombre Desert Rose Bulbs

Adenium obesum — Crimson Ombre. Each petal carries its own gradient: a saturated pink edge that melts toward white at the centre, so a head in full flower looks like it has been hand-shaded. The effect is strongest on a mature plant where dozens of doubles open together, and it is remarkably consistent flower to flower. A real crowd-pleaser for anyone who wants a pink that is anything but flat.

How to start it

• Pot: free-draining mix — 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand — in a pot with a drainage hole.
• Water: dry for the first 7 days, then soak-and-dry cycles.
• Light: 6+ hours. Bright sun deepens the ombre contrast.
• Cold: USDA 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere above 50°F / 10°C.

The gradient is sharpest in spring; summer heat can soften the transition slightly. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
