Noir Violet Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with near-black dark violet doubles — the darkest, most dramatic bloom in the collection.
Adenium obesum — Noir Violet. As close to black as a desert rose gets: heavily doubled blooms in a deep violet so dark it reads near-black in shade, with a faint red-violet glow at the throat in full sun. Against the pale, sculptural caudex the contrast is startling — this is the plant you buy for drama, the one that anchors a styled shelf or a dark-glazed pot and turns a corner of the room into a statement.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with a pale sculptural form, visible eyes and intact roots.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — each caudex an individual.
How to start it
- Pot: a dark or stone-look container sets off the bloom. 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand.
- Water: dry for the first 7 days, then soak-and-dry cycles.
- Light: 6+ hours; sun pulls the red-violet glow out of the dark.
- Cold: USDA 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere above 50°F / 10°C.
Dark blooms photograph nearly black in shade — a sunny spot reveals the violet. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
