Lilac Halo Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with purple doubles that fade outward into a lavender halo. Softest of the purples, and the most generous bloomer of them.
Adenium obesum — Lilac Halo. Deep purple at the centre bleeding out to a pale lavender edge, with a hint of cream in the throat. It is a two-tone flower rather than a flat one, and because the halo is pale it stays visible at dusk when the deep purples disappear. Buds form in threes and fours, so the plant tends to flower in waves rather than one burst.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with a stout trunk, visible eyes and full roots.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — multi-packs are separate caudexes.
How to start it
- Pot: 5–6 in / 13–15 cm, free-draining. 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand.
- Water: 7 dry days, then soak and let it dry right out. Buds drop if the roots stay wet.
- Light: 6+ hours. The halo widens in heat and tightens in cool weather.
