Water-Grown Grass Head Doll — Bamboo Bowl, Mohawk Cut
$30.00 – $85.00Price range: $30.00 through $85.00
No soil, no saucer: sit it in a shallow dish of water and the head drinks from the base. The bowl makes it look like a bonsai.
Grass head doll — water culture. The same seeded body, grown with its base sitting in a shallow dish of water instead of a drip saucer. No soil, no repotting, and the water line stays visible so you can see at a glance whether it needs topping up. The doll in front is cut in a short mohawk; the two behind are day-one bald.
What you get
- One doll per piece ordered, about 4 in / 10 cm tall, filled and pre-sown with rye grass.
- Shallow bamboo-look bowl in the photo is a display suggestion — the doll ships with a drip saucer that does the same job.
- Two-tone butterfly pin at the collar, mint-green on the body as shown.
How to grow it in water
- Soak 8–12 hours before setting it in the bowl. The head has to be saturated through, not just damp on the outside.
- Water level: about 5 mm in the bowl — enough to reach the base, not enough to submerge the body.
- Change the water every two to three days; still water goes sour and the base starts to smell.
- Light: bright indirect, 4–6 hours. Water-grown heads in full sun heat up fast.
- Mohawk cut: at three weeks, trim the sides short and leave the centre tall — one pass with scissors.
Water culture is the tidiest way to keep one on a desk or a white shelf: nothing to spill, nothing to repot. Non-toxic seed and filling, safe around children and cats. Ships in 5–7 working days, 8–25 working days in transit.
