Amethyst Regalia Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with deep violet double blooms rimmed in white. Three branches from a thick base — the widest caudex of the violet group.
Adenium obesum — Amethyst Regalia. Violet so deep it photographs black in low light, held together by a crisp white rim on every petal. The rims are what make it read as violet rather than plain dark, and they stay sharp in heat where softer purples bleach out. Below the flowers, three branches leave a thick, heavily swollen base — this is a plant that looks established from day one.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with a swollen multi-branch base, visible eyes and full roots.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — each one a separate caudex.
How to start it
- Pot: wide enough for the base with 2 in / 5 cm of clearance. 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand.
- Water: none for 7 days after potting, then soak-and-dry cycles. Never leave the saucer standing full.
- Light: 6+ hours. Strong light is what keeps the white rim from washing out.
- Cold: USDA 10–12; indoors keep above 50°F / 10°C and stop watering almost entirely in winter.
Purple adenium shifts with temperature — cooler nights push it toward true violet, a heatwave toward burgundy. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
