Tri-Colour Crown Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with three distinct colours on one plant: blood crimson, pink-picotee white and warm apricot. The gift pick of the collection.
Adenium obesum — Tri-Colour Crown. One caudex, three personalities. This grafted showpiece opens blood-crimson, pink-edged white and warm apricot rose-form doubles side by side, so a single pot reads like a mixed bouquet — and because each colour cycles on its own schedule, the display changes week by week. It is the variety people photograph first, and the one that works as a present without you having to explain what it is.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with visible eyes and a full root system — not a seed, not a cutting.
- Three colours from one plant once it settles and flowers, typically the first warm season.
- One plant per bulb ordered — multi-packs are separate caudexes to pot up or share.
How to start it
- Pot: free-draining mix — 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand. Terracotta, one size up from the root ball.
- Water: none for the first 7 days, then soak and let it dry completely before the next drink.
- Light: 6+ hours of direct sun. Strong light keeps all three colours saturated.
- Cold: USDA zones 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere keep it above 50°F / 10°C on a sunny sill.
Grafted colours can lean one way or another in the first flush — by the second cycle all three usually show. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
