Champagne Ruffle Desert Rose Bulbs

Adenium obesum — Champagne Ruffle. Petals open in warm champagne cream, each one traced with a fine gold edge, and the flower deepens to a rose-pink heart at the centre. In bright sun the gold rim catches fire; in soft light the whole bloom reads as a single pale blush. Plants in this line often carry two tones at once — one branch paler, one deeper — which makes a small pot look fuller than it is.

What you get

How to start it

• Pot: free-draining mix — 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand — in a pot one size up from the roots.
• Water: dry for the first 7 days, then soak and let the pot dry out completely between drinks.
• Light: 6+ hours. The gold edge only shows properly in bright light.
• Cold: USDA 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere a sunny windowsill above 50°F / 10°C.

Pale varieties open deeper in cool weather and nearly white in a heatwave — both are the same plant. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
