Frosted Periwinkle Lily Bulbs

Price range: $30.99 through $99.99

Periwinkle-blue petals with a frosted, crystal finish and bright orange anthers. Cool-toned, luminous, and completely unexpected in a lily bed.

SKU: SV-LILY-11-FP Categories: ,

Lilium Oriental Hybrid — Frosted Periwinkle. Periwinkle is a colour that belongs to spring — forget-me-nots, vinca, the first warm week of April. Finding it in a four-foot lily in the middle of July is genuinely disorienting, which is exactly why people stop at this one.

The petals carry a fine, sugared texture that reads as frost in strong light, and the anthers are a hot orange that should clash and somehow doesn’t. Blooms are broad and open, 6–7 inches, with a light fragrance that stays close to the flower instead of filling the garden.

It is the coolest colour in this collection. Plant it with white, silver or deep green and let it do the talking.

What you get

  • True periwinkle-blue petals — a cool tone almost never seen in lilies.
  • Frosted, sugar-like petal texture that shimmers in strong light.
  • Vivid orange anthers for an unexpectedly sharp contrast.
  • Broad 6–7 in blooms with a light, contained fragrance.
  • Top-size bulbs, zones 4–9, perennial and multiplying each year.

How to grow it

  • Plant: 6 in / 15 cm deep, 8–10 in apart, in full sun and well-drained soil. Pointy end up. Mark the spot — lilies are late to emerge in spring.
  • Water: soak after planting, then whenever the top inch of soil dries. Never let water sit in the hole.
  • Light: 6+ hours of direct sun; light afternoon shade keeps the flowers from fading.
  • Cold: fully hardy in USDA zones 4–9. Mulch the first winter; no lifting needed.
  • After flowering: cut only the flower stems. Let the foliage yellow on its own — that is next year’s bulb being built.

Shipped dormant and cleaned, 14/16 cm top-size bulbs. Dispatch in 5–7 working days, 8–25 working days in transit. Colour depth varies with soil, light and season — the first flower from a fresh bulb is usually the most intense.
