Blue & Violet Desert Rose Bulbs
$16.44 – $49.32Price range: $16.44 through $49.32
Adenium obesum with petals that shade from a pale blue centre to violet at the edge — a cool, dreamy gradient.
Adenium obesum — Blue & Violet. The coolest flower in this batch: each double opens with a pale blue centre that deepens to violet at the petal edge, so the whole head reads like a watercolour wash. It sits on a thick, substantial caudex and produces new buds while the first flush is still out. Cool-toned flowers are the most light-dependent we grow, and this one repays a bright position with the fullest gradient.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with a thick base, visible eyes and a full root system.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — multi-packs are separate caudexes.
How to start it
- Pot: free-draining mix — 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand — in a pot with a drainage hole.
- Water: dry for the first 7 days, then soak and let it dry out completely.
- Light: maximum sun you can give; 6+ hours holds the blue.
- Cold: USDA 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere above 50°F / 10°C.
Cool tones hold best in full sun; in shade the blue drifts toward slate. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
