Blue Frost Lily Bulbs

Price range: $30.99 through $99.99

White petals, dipped in sky blue. Blue Frost opens big, sweetly scented blooms on sturdy 3–4 ft stems — the coolest-looking lily in the border, and one of the easiest to grow.

SKU: SV-LILY-01-BF Categories: ,

Lilium Oriental Hybrid — Blue Frost. Some lilies shout. Blue Frost whispers — and then everyone leans in.

Each petal opens clean, wax-white and finishes in a wash of sky blue, as if the flower had been edged with watercolour. The blooms are 6–8 inches across and sweetly fragrant, carried three to five to a stem on stalks strong enough to cut for the vase without staking. In a white or silver-grey border the blue edge reads almost icy; against dark foliage it glows.

It is the kind of lily that makes visitors stop and ask what it is — and then ask where you found it.

What you get

  • Pure white petals with a sky-blue edge that deepens as each flower ages.
  • Large 6–8 in blooms, three to five per stem.
  • Top-size 14/16 cm bulbs — flowers in the very first season.
  • Comes back bigger every summer and naturalises in borders, pots and cutting beds.
  • Outstanding cut flower: stems last 7–10 days in water, opening bud by bud.

How to grow it

  • Plant: 6 in / 15 cm deep, 8–10 in apart, in full sun and well-drained soil. Pointy end up. Mark the spot — lilies are late to emerge in spring.
  • Water: soak after planting, then whenever the top inch of soil dries. Never let water sit in the hole.
  • Light: 6+ hours of direct sun; light afternoon shade keeps the flowers from fading.
  • Cold: fully hardy in USDA zones 4–9. Mulch the first winter; no lifting needed.
  • After flowering: cut only the flower stems. Let the foliage yellow on its own — that is next year’s bulb being built.

Shipped dormant and cleaned, 14/16 cm top-size bulbs. Dispatch in 5–7 working days, 8–25 working days in transit. Colour depth varies with soil, light and season — the first flower from a fresh bulb is usually the most intense.
