Adenium obesum with dewy pink doubles and yellow-green hearts, caught mid-bloom in morning light. A fresh, romantic pink.
Adenium obesum — Rose Dew. The photograph caught this one just after a morning watering, and that freshness is the whole point of the variety: soft rose-pink doubles with a clean yellow-green heart, petals carrying a faint bloom that reads like dew even on a dry plant. It is the kind of pink that looks as good in a terracotta pot on a patio as it does in a glazed pot indoors, and it flowers in generous waves through the warm months.
What you get
- Dormant bare-root caudex with visible eyes and a full root system — not a seed, not a cutting.
- Flowers the first season once nights stay above 60°F / 15°C.
- One plant per bulb ordered — multi-packs are separate caudexes to pot up or share.
How to start it
- Pot: free-draining mix — 50% cactus soil, 30% pumice, 20% coarse sand. Terracotta, one size up from the root ball.
- Water: none for the first 7 days, then soak and let it dry completely before the next drink.
- Light: 6+ hours of direct sun keeps the pink saturated.
- Cold: USDA zones 10–12 outdoors; elsewhere keep it above 50°F / 10°C on a sunny sill.
The pink reads deeper in cool weeks and paler in a heatwave — both are the same plant. Ships dormant and bare-root, wrapped in dry sphagnum. 5–7 working days to dispatch, 8–25 working days in transit.
