Magenta Orchid Lily Bulbs
$30.99 – $99.99Price range: $30.99 through $99.99
Magenta so saturated it looks backlit, with orange stamens stuck in the middle like a clash someone planned. Magenta Orchid is not subtle and does not want to be.
Lilium Oriental Hybrid — Magenta Orchid. There is a shade of pink that stops being pink and becomes a light source. This is it.
The petals are magenta-violet, deepest in the throat and glowing at the tips, with a scatter of darker red freckles and a ring of orange stamens that should clash and instead completes the thing. Six to eight inches across — big enough that three stems fill a bucket — with four to six blooms per stem and very little scent, which makes it the better choice for a dining table.
Put it somewhere it can be seen from a distance. Up close it is almost too much.
What you get
- Vivid magenta-violet petals with dark red freckles and orange stamens.
- Large 6–8 in blooms, four to six per stem.
- Low scent — ideal for indoor vases and dinner tables.
- Top-size 14/16 cm bulbs — flowers the first summer.
- 3–4 ft stems that hold up in wind without staking.
How to grow it
- Plant: 6 in / 15 cm deep, 8–10 in apart, in full sun and well-drained soil. Pointy end up. Mark the spot — lilies are late to emerge in spring.
- Water: soak after planting, then whenever the top inch of soil dries. Never let water sit in the hole.
- Light: 6+ hours of direct sun; light afternoon shade keeps the flowers from fading.
- Cold: fully hardy in USDA zones 4–9. Mulch the first winter; no lifting needed.
- After flowering: cut only the flower stems. Let the foliage yellow on its own — that is next year’s bulb being built.
Shipped dormant and cleaned, 14/16 cm top-size bulbs. Dispatch in 5–7 working days, 8–25 working days in transit. Colour depth varies with soil, light and season — the first flower from a fresh bulb is usually the most intense.
