Why we started

Hostas are the plant that makes a shade garden work. They come back every spring, they shrug off neglect, and a single well-grown clump can define the look of a border for twenty years. But most gardeners meet them as expensive potted plants at a garden centre — or as sad, dried-up roots from a bargain bin.

Silvarara exists to fix that. We ship dormant, field-grown hosta bulbs direct to gardeners across the United States at a price that makes it reasonable to plant a whole bed rather than a single pot.

How we source

Our bulbs come from specialist growers who lift and grade stock at the end of the growing season. We buy in graded lots, inspect every batch for firmness and eye count, and reject anything undersized. Bulbs are stored cold and dry until the moment they are packed.

How we pack

Each order ships in a breathable, moisture-retaining medium with a variety label and a planting card. Bulbs are dormant when they arrive — that is normal, and it is how they travel best.
